Annual Generator Maintenance & Inspection Agreement

This Service Agreement (“Agreement”) is between:
Johnny’s Generator Maintenance (“Service Provider”, “we”, “our”)
and Customer (“Client”, “you”).
By scheduling service, paying an invoice, submitting a service request, or allowing access to your generator, you agree to the terms of this Agreement.
1. Services Provided
The Service Provider agrees to perform an annual maintenance service on the Client’s standby generator. The standard maintenance includes:
- Oil change (oil provided by Service Provider or Client’s own oil if requested)
- Oil filter replacement (if applicable to generator model)
- Air filter replacement
- Spark plug(s) inspection and replacement
- Battery voltage and charger inspection
- Generator start-up and functional exercise
- Voltage output test (no-load test)
- Visual inspection for leaks, corrosion, loose connections, and wear
- Clearing of small debris around unit
- Review of weekly test functionality
- Resetting maintenance intervals (if applicable to model)
2. Exclusions (Not Included in Standard Maintenance)
The annual maintenance does not include:
- Major repairs
- Diagnostic work unrelated to routine maintenance
- Transfer switch service beyond a basic visual inspection
- Electrical wiring corrections
- Replacement of damaged or aftermarket parts not supplied by the Service Provider
- Fuel system repairs
- Coolant system repairs (for liquid-cooled units)
- Emergency service due to storm events (unless agreed separately)
Any additional work will be quoted separately and requires Client approval.
3. Client Responsibilities
The Client agrees to:
- Provide accurate generator model and serial number information.
- Ensure clear access to the generator at the time of service.
- Provide current contact information.
- Notify the Service Provider of any unusual noises, error codes, or operational issues before the appointment.
- Allow the Service Provider to perform maintenance with or without the Client being home, if the generator is accessible.
4. Pricing & Payment
Standard annual maintenance service: $125 (unless otherwise quoted).
Price includes labor and basic materials (oil, filters, spark plug(s))
Payment is due upon completion of service unless otherwise agreed.
Accepted payment methods:
- Cash
- Check
- Other methods if listed by Service Provider
Unpaid invoices may incur late fees after 30 days.
5. Service Limitations
Standby generators contain sensitive electrical and mechanical components. The Client understands:
- Generators may fail due to age, misuse, prior damage, installation quality, or part failure.
- Maintenance reduces risk but cannot guarantee uninterrupted operation.
- Service Provider is not responsible for loss of power, property damage, food spoilage, frozen pipes, sump pump overflow, or other losses caused by generator failure.
- Some aging units may require repairs beyond the scope of basic maintenance.
6. Warranty & Liability
The Service Provider is not affiliated with or endorsed by Generac (unless/until authorized).
Maintenance services are performed independently.
Service Provider is not responsible for:
- Damages caused by pre-existing conditions
- Improper installation performed by third parties
- Aftermarket modifications
- Fuel supply issues (LP/natural gas pressure, regulator problems)
- Storm-related surge damage
- Internal engine or alternator failure unless directly caused by negligence
Parts supplied by the Service Provider carry manufacturer warranties only.
No other warranties, express or implied, are provided.
7. Rescheduling & Access
- Client may reschedule with reasonable notice.
- If the generator is inaccessible at the appointment time, a reduced trip fee may be charged at the Service Provider’s discretion.
- Severe weather may require rescheduling for safety.
8. Annual Renewal
This Agreement covers a single maintenance service.
The Client may choose to renew annually.
The Service Provider may send reminders by text, phone, email, or mail.
9. Termination
Either party may terminate this Agreement at any time.
If terminated after a service is completed, the Client remains responsible for payment for that service.
10. Acceptance of Terms
By scheduling service, paying for service, or allowing service to be performed on your generator, the Client acknowledges and accepts the terms of this Agreement.
